Justification By Faith

We hear much in religion on the subject of faith and being justified by it. Paul tells us, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 5:1) The common approach to this verse by many religious leaders is to attach the words “only” at the end of this phrase. Is this what the apostle Paul meant? Can the words ‘by faith’ include the obedience to that faith, or are we justified the moment we believe? Let us take a look at this much debated question.

God's Standard for Unity: Part 8
Written by Shawn Daniels

It has taken eight articles, but we are finally approaching the end of this short but important study. I say short, because books could be written, and many exist, on the subject of unity of Christian. My intentions for writing these articles is not to be exhaustive in any subject, but to set forward some Biblical ideas, and hopefully incite a spark in my readers to continue in their study of God's word. All Christian should be “Bible Students.” I say important, because the unity between Christians was so important that Jesus made the subject the theme of an intense prayer. (John 17) Jesus cared much about our unity, which should make it also important to us as professed followers of Jesus.

You Shall Be Holy, For I Am Holy

This first installment of the Sermons from the Letters of Peter series, looks at  what it means to be holy and reminds the Christian that the main purpose of our calling is for us to be holy.  This sermon also set forward the motivation for us to be holy.  It's not for wages that we strive for holiness, but because we are children of a Holy God.

MARCH 11 MORNING

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. -- NUM. 6:24.

The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. -- Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. -- I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.

Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept.

The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Prov. 10:22. Psa. 5:12. Psa. 121:3,5,7,8. Isa. 27:3. John 17:11,12. II Tim. 4:18.

MARCH 11 EVENING

Jesus wept. -- JOHN 11:35.

A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. -- We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. -- It became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. -- Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.

I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Behold how he loved. -- He took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. In all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Isa. 53:3. Heb. 4:15. Heb. 2:10. Heb. 5:8. Isa. 50:5,6. John 11:36. Heb. 2:16,17.

Some Information About Us

Who are we?

Simply put, we are a group of Christians, which were born by the power that God has given us through the gosepl (John 1:12; Romans 1:16, 17), that assemble together for the purpose of worship and service to God. We are non-denominational and wear only the name of Christ. We strive to do all things, word or deed, by the authority of Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:17).
